Rotonda is a peaceful, well planned, deed-restricted community in South-West Florida. The deed-restricted part means that there are rules about everything from development, to putting the ‘trash out’. They are a very good thing in that they stop people running businesses from their homes that may affect others, from unsightly developments, and generally ensure that Rotonda West remains a wonderful place to live and visit.
This community is arranged like a bicycle wheel with homes, golf courses, a school and a fire / paramedic station. There are no businesses, shops or restaurants at all so a car is essential. It is also a protected nature reserve - and as a result  full of birds and other wildlife. A network of canals runs through the community extending for over 20 miles. There are currently 6 golf courses within the Rotonda ‘wheel’. A useful source for further information on Rotonda West can be found here.

Our villa is just 10-12 minutes from several terrific, unspoilt, peaceful and clean beaches with loads of wildlife. This one at Stump Pass is around 100 yards from a $2 per day car park.
